TWO LOCAL MANUFACTURERS ACCOUNT FOR 21.3% OF NASSAU ECONOMY

According to the study, WestRock and Rayonier Advanced Materials, accounted for 13.3 percent of total workforce employment and 21.3 percent of Nassau County’s GDP in 2014. Combined, both companies made capital improvements valued at $96.6 million during 2013-2015, generated $27.4 million in total state and local government taxes and $59.2 million in federal government taxes.

The study also found, WestRock and Rayonier Advanced Materials contribute $1.2 billion dollars annually to Nassau County’s economy, support over 4,000 local jobs and contribute $252 million in earnings to local workers and small businesses.
